Móstoles is getting ready to celebrate its emblematic May 2nd Festivities, of National Touristic Interest. The citizens of Móstoles and visitors who wish to do so will be able to take pictures with them, upload the photo to social media, to Instagram, with the hashtag #meninasmostoles, follow the Móstoles City Council account, and receive a gift, a mini-menina, as a prize for the snapshot that accumulates the most «likes». On the other hand, Móstoles will once again host the traditional Goyesque Market, from April 30th to May 4th, with more than 140 stalls of artisan and gastronomy products. There will be parades set in the era, music, dances, jesters, jugglers, puppets, circus shows… as well as storytelling sessions, workshops, performances such as «Fuegos del Capricho» or «La Danza del Fuego y el Lienzo», among others. A must-see event in the surroundings of Plaza del Pradillo, Calle Antonio Hernández, Plaza de la Cultura, and Avenida Iker Casillas. It will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (and until 1:00 a.m. on the eve of holidays), and from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. at the stalls located on Avenida Iker Casillas. Another classic of the Móstoles traditions is the Lantern Parade (in period costumes), on May 2nd, at 10:30 p.m., starting at the Teatro del Bosque; the 42nd edition (XLII) of the Floats Contest, on Thursday, May 1st, starting the route on Desarrollo Street at 6:00 p.m.; the Goyesque parade with giants and bigheads, at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30th. In addition, the program includes conferences; open days at the municipal Archive (from April 28th to 30th) featuring an exhibition on the world of information, from handwritten origins to the current digitization era; and a nocturnal theatrical visit to the Casa-Museo Andrés Torrejón, on Friday, April 25th, by the theatrical association «Carpe Diem», among other events. For the parades, the City Council will set up a BLUE SECTION, without sound, intended for people with sensory hypersensitivity at various points in the municipality, according to the route, because we want accessible festivities for everyone. For the parade of giants and bigheads, it will be set up at the Glorieta de Cuatro Caminos, and for the float parade, on the corner of Alfonso XII Street and Desarrollo Street. Music is also a protagonist in our festivities and arouses great interest among the citizens of Móstoles, who always demonstrate a high level of participation in all concerts. The city will once again come alive with the energy of París de Noia, one of the main orchestras in the national scene, and the great Fiesta de los 40 Urban, returning to Móstoles after the great success of the past Christmas celebrations where they entertained the pre-New Year’s Eve celebrations. Also, great artists and musical groups will star in the «Millenial Night» such as La La Love You, known for their hit ‘El fin del mundo’, DJ WILLY ALCOCER and DJ ORI, who will play great hits and classics from the 2000s, respectively. Likewise, groups like Seguridad Social will perform in the «Most Eighties Night», with legendary songs like ‘Chiquilla’, ‘Quiero tener tu presencia’ or ‘Comerranas’; DJ PEDRO CORTÉS, with 80s Pop and Funky, and DJ FUNKDRESS KADOC, who will play 80s hits. Traditional folklore styles cannot be missed, with a show that combines zarzuela and flamenco, offering wonders to listen to like ‘Por la calle de Alcalá’ to the beat of bulerías. We will also have the Dier orchestra, the Malibú orchestra, the Tucan Brass orchestra, the Princesa orchestra, which will bring dance and fun notes to the stage at Parque Finca Liana, in the tent area. This year, the inauguration will be given by the President of the Madrid Handball Federation, José Javier Hombrados, who will address the citizens of Móstoles from the balcony of the City Council, officially kicking off the festivities with the traditional opening ceremony. The fireworks will once again light up the Móstoles sky on Wednesday, April 30th, in the esplanade in front of the Andrés Torrejón Sports Center. At 11:00 p.m., you can enjoy this highly celebrated and anticipated pyrotechnic show among the citizens of Móstoles, which this year will be provided by Pirotecnia Igual. Children will also have their special programming, such as «Musilocos», a family show that goes through the most famous children’s songs of all time; or the children’s musical directed to the whole family, Hakuna Matata. The little ones will be able to dance, thanks to a «Junior Disco», to the greatest hits of the most current music, in Plaza de España. On the other hand, we want to mention all the sports activities and competitions of multiple disciplines such as judo, skating, chess, table tennis, and the celebration of the Second MARCHADOG 2025, which take place during these days in the municipality, within the framework of the candidacy for the European City of Sport 2026, demonstrating that Móstoles is a worthy candidate to achieve that distinction that we aspire to. Guide for safe festivities The Móstoles City Council recommends citizens to follow safety guidelines to enjoy the festivities. The program details advice for attending fireworks as well as concerts. In addition, an information point against gender-based violence will be set up at Parque Finca Liana on April 30th, May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from 10:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Here, centinel bracelets will be available, which detect the presence of drugs in drinks—alcoholic or not—through a rapid test that alerts in seconds if a drink has been altered. It is designed to prevent chemical submission whose intention is to nullify a person’s will.
