Móstoles requests a new Post Office in Parque Coimbra following closure of intu Xanadú.

Oficina de Correos

The mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista (PP), has sent a letter to the president of Correos, Pedro Saura, requesting him to consider the possibility of opening a new Correos office in the neighborhood of Parque Coimbra following the closure of the one that was in the intu Xanadú shopping center.

In the letter, the mayor of Móstoles informs the president of Correos that the closure of the Correos Post Office located in the intu Xanadú Shopping Center, located in Arroyomolinos although very close to Parque Coimbra, has caused a great disruption in this neighborhood isolated from the urban core of Móstoles.

The mayor of Móstoles, «disappointed» after meeting with Renfe and Transportes

In this Correos office, a large number of procedures and transactions could be carried out, such as sending letters and packages to Spain and abroad with different types of rates depending on the speed of transport, in addition to the office also serving as a place for collecting shipments.

«The closure of this office has caused significant concern among the residents of Parque Coimbra, who have been deprived of a nearby and accessible postal service,» Bautista emphasized in his letter, where he joins the residents’ demand for the restoration of this essential service.

The mayor reiterated that «this situation has caused inconvenience, especially for our elderly, people with reduced mobility, and families with demanding work schedules.»

Warning in Móstoles about false calls from electricity and gas companies

«Given that the neighborhood of Parque Coimbra continues to grow, we believe that the opening of a new Correos office in this area would be a suitable measure to ensure that our residents can access postal services with the same convenience as before,» he added.

Therefore, he urges the president of Correos to consider this request «and, as far as possible, consider the possibility of opening a new Correos office in Parque Coimbra.»

«I am available to collaborate in the search for a solution that benefits the residents of Móstoles. Thanking you in advance for your attention and cooperation, I look forward to your response,» he concludes in his letter.
