El alcalde de Móstoles se muestra «decepcionado» tras reunión con Renfe y Transportes
The mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista, has held a meeting regarding the situation of the C-5 Cercanías line with representatives from Renfe and the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, which he has described as «disappointing» because, he claims, it does not provide a solution to the continuous mobility problems of the residents of Móstoles.
The mayor has expressed his concern about the recurring incidents on the C-5 line, with over 1,000 incidents and breakdowns in 2024, and has called for an investment to update the Cercanías network, which the Ministry itself does not consider «necessary,» as stated in the City Council’s press release.

Regarding accessibility at the Móstoles – El Soto station, the mayor has urgently requested measures to «allow and facilitate access for residents with reduced mobility, elderly individuals, and families with strollers.» The station remodeling plan has not yet been tendered, and no provisional measures are being considered, as he has been informed.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the free use of the R-5 line during the duration of the A-5 construction works. Despite being a demand from the residents, it has been noted that it is not a priority for the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
