The mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista, has proposed to the Madrid City Council to consider the possibility of restoring bus services to the Príncipe Pío interchange, with the aim of «streamlining and facilitating the mobility of the residents of Móstoles during the construction works.»

«We are looking for solutions that improve mobility and, above all, the well-being of the residents of Móstoles. Although technical reports have not deemed it feasible at the moment, we are aware that circumstances change as the works progress,» added the mayor.

In this regard, he insists that they have already put forward the proposal for buses to reach Príncipe Pío, «especially during peak demand hours,» so that it can be done when technically feasible.

Furthermore, Móstoles has secured the commitment of the capital to address a refurbishment and organization plan for Cuatro Vientos, which includes the installation of more shelters, services, water supply, lighting, and support staff for users affected by the A-5 tunneling works on the Paseo de Extremadura.

The consideration of restoring the Príncipe Pío interchange and the heat mitigation measures come after Bautista’s meeting with the Mobility Councilor of the Madrid City Council, Borja Carabante.

In this regard, as explained by the mayor, an agreement has been reached in the meeting to install more shelters, services, water supply, lighting, and support staff for users arriving at the Cuatro Vientos interchange, where complaints about the heat have increased.
