From February 18 to 23, the people of Móstoles will be able to enjoy Spanish and Latin American folklore, pop music, dance, puppet theater, exhibitions, storytelling, cinema, and two book presentations. The cultural agenda, designed by the Móstoles City Council through the Department of Culture, Development, and Tourism Promotion, kicks off this week with the opening on Tuesday, February 18, at 6:00 p.m., of the exhibition «Imponderables» by artist Encarna Fernández Labara.
This pastel and watercolor drawing exhibition will be open to the public until March 31 at the Clock Room of the Villa de Móstoles Cultural Center. Also on Tuesday, February 18, the storytelling event «Historias de boca en boca y cuento porque me toca» will take place for families with children over four years old. Aurora Maroto will tell the stories in two sessions at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the North-University Sociocultural Center Library.
On Wednesday, February 19, Ana Titiricuento will present the storytelling event «¡Al lobo, lobito, lobo!» at the Almudena Grandes Central Library in two 30-minute sessions at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The event will feature puppetry and engaging stories for the audience.
The film «The Unforgiven» (1960) will be screened on Wednesday, February 19, as part of the «Filmoteca» program at 6:30 p.m. at the North-University Sociocultural Center. Directed by John Huston, this western tells the story of the Zachary family and their interactions with the Rawlins family after a tragic event.
The «Family Thursdays» program will feature the music show «Historia del Pop español» by local artist Óscar Novoa on Thursday, February 20, at the El Soto Sociocultural Center. Novoa will offer a concert that educates the audience on the history of Spanish pop rock and allows them to sing along to iconic songs.
On the same day, Thursday, February 20, ASEAPO will organize the poetry recital «Anécdotas y poemas» with poets Primitivo Oliva Fernández, Emilio Polo Vilches, Vicente Zaragoza Sesmero, and Rosa Rodríguez Núñez at 6:00 p.m. at the City Museum.
Singer and composer Miryam Latrece will present her intimate and personal project «Volveré a quererte» at the Bosque Theater on Thursday, February 20, at 8:00 p.m., featuring traditional Spanish and Latin American folklore music.
The Central Almudena Grandes Library will host the book presentation of «Me quiero como soy» by Myra Reda on Friday, February 21, at 6:00 p.m. The book tells the story of Sofia, who faced challenges in her adolescence due to societal body image standards.
The «Family Cinema» program will feature the movie «Lightyear» on Saturday, February 22, at 6:00 p.m. at the El Soto Sociocultural Center and on Sunday, February 23, at 12:00 p.m. at the North-University Sociocultural Center and 6:00 p.m. at the Joan Miró Sociocultural Center.
The weekend will conclude with the dance show «Suite española Op. 47» by Isaac Albéniz, presented by the Fundación Ballet Español de la Comunidad de Madrid on Saturday, February 22, at the Bosque Theater at 7:00 p.m. The show celebrates Spanish art through traditional dance techniques.

The story revolves around Sofía, who faced a challenging adolescence by not meeting the body stereotypes imposed by society. Sin embargo, su lucha no se limitó a la imagen física, ya que se vio envuelta en situaciones que afectaron profundamente su autoestima.
El programa «Cine en familia» presenta esta semana «Lightyear», que se proyectará el sábado 22 a las 18:00 h en el Centro Sociocultural El Soto y el domingo 23 a las 12:00 h en el Centro Sociocultural Norte-Universidad, y a las 18:00 h en el Centro Sociocultural Joan Miró. La película narra el origen de Buzz Lightyear, el héroe que inspiró el juguete, y nos introduce al legendario Guardián Espacial que ha cautivado a generaciones de fans.
El sábado 22, el Teatro del Bosque acogerá a las 19:00 h el espectáculo de danza «Suite española Op. 47» de Isaac Albéniz, presentado por la Fundación Ballet Español de la Comunidad de Madrid. Esta obra coreografía la Suite Española de Isaac Albéniz en su orden original, celebrando nuestro arte más universal y llevando al espectador a un viaje a través del tiempo.
La programación cultural de la semana finaliza el domingo 23 con la presentación del libro «Rumbo a Ítaca» de Víctor Luis Guedán Pécker a las 12:00 h en el Museo de la Ciudad, y la obra infantil «Sé tortuga» en el Teatro del Bosque a las 12:30 h. En «Sé tortuga», de la compañía Xip Xap, un gallo y unas entrañables tortugas enseñarán la importancia de vivir y disfrutar de las cosas de forma tranquila y sin prisas, transmitiendo un mensaje de amor y amabilidad.
- Del 18 al 23 de febrero, los mostoleños podrán disfrutar de folclore español y latinoamericano, música pop, danza, teatro de títeres, exposiciones, cuentacuentos, cine y dos presentaciones de libros.
La agenda cultural de Móstoles, diseñada por el Ayuntamiento a través de la Concejalía de Cultura, Desarrollo y Promoción Turística, comienza esta semana con la inauguración de la exposición «Imponderables» de Encarna Fernández Labara el martes 18 de febrero a las 18:00 h en la Sala del Reloj del Centro Cultural Villa de Móstoles. La exposición estará abierta al público hasta el 31 de marzo.
El martes 18 también se llevará a cabo el cuentacuentos «Historias de boca en boca y cuento porque me toca» dirigido al público familiar en la biblioteca del Centro Sociocultural Norte-Universidad a las 17:30 h y 18:30 h.
El miércoles 19, Ana Titiricuento presentará el cuentacuentos «!Al lobo, lobito, lobo!» en la Biblioteca Central Almudena Grandes en dos sesiones a las 17:30 h y 18:30 h. La película «Los que no perdonan» (The Unforgiven, 1960) se proyectará ese mismo día a las 18:30 h en el Centro Sociocultural Norte-Universidad.
El jueves 20, el programa «Jueves en Familia» ofrecerá el espectáculo de música «Historia del Pop español» de Óscar Novoa en el Centro Sociocultural El Soto. Ese mismo día, ASEAPO organizará el recital de poesía «Anécdotas y poemas» con los poetas Primitivo Oliva Fernández, Emilio Polo Vilches, Vicente Zaragoza Sesmero y Rosa Rodríguez Núñez a partir de las 18:00 h en el Museo de la Ciudad.
