The Móstoles City Council is organizing a cultural program with puppet shows, theater, and dance performances, among other activities, for the week of March 11th to 16th, suitable for the whole family.
The week’s cultural agenda kicks off with the storytelling event «El león Kandinga» by Cameroonian storyteller Boni Ofogo. This event will take place on March 11th and 12th at the Joan Miró Library and Parque Coimbra Library, respectively. The stories narrated by Boni Ofogo are part of the oral tradition of the Bantu tribe in Africa. Children aged four and above can enjoy these tales for free by picking up tickets at the respective venues.
On March 12th, as part of the Filmoteca series, the film «Toro salvaje» (Raging Bull, 1980) directed by Martin Scorsese will be screened at Centro Sociocultural Norte-Universidad. This event is free, with tickets available at the venue.
The week continues with a BebeCuentos event titled «Palmas, palmitas» on March 13th at the Central Library, followed by a finger puppet workshop on March 14th at Centro Sociocultural Caleidoscopio.
On the weekend, there will be Microescena performances at Teatro del Bosque on March 14th, an animated film screening of «Flow, un mundo que salvar» on March 15th, a dance performance of «Lost Letters» at Teatro del Bosque on March 15th, and a Polish folklore music and dance event at the City Museum on March 16th.
Additionally, the puppet show «El mago de Oz» will be presented by La Canica at Teatro El Soto on March 16th. This show is suitable for children aged five and above and is based on the classic story «The Wonderful Wizard of Oz» by L. Frank Baum. Las historias contadas por un orador infantil experto forman parte de la tradición oral de la tribu bantú, que vive en las sabanas y selvas africanas desde Camerún hasta Sudáfrica. Se podrán escuchar el martes 11 en la Biblioteca Joan Miró y el miércoles 12 en la Biblioteca Parque Coimbra, en dos sesiones de 30 minutos a las 17:30 h y 18:30 h. Esta actividad es para niños de cuatro años en adelante, con entrada gratuita previa retirada de invitaciones en el centro.
El miércoles 12, en el ciclo de la Filmoteca, se proyectará la película «Toro salvaje» (Raging Bull, 1980), dirigida por Martin Scorsese y protagonizada por Robert de Niro como el boxeador Jake la Motta. La proyección será en el Centro Sociocultural Norte-Universidad a las 18:30 h, con entrada gratuita previa retirada de invitaciones en el centro.
El jueves 13, en BebeCuentos, «Palmas, palmitas» será el centro de atención en la Biblioteca Central. La narradora Margarida Albertí cautivará a bebés de 6 meses y niños de hasta 3 años, acompañados por un adulto, con dos pases a las 17:00 h y 18:00 h.
Y como todos los jueves, en la programación de «Jueves en Familia», habrá un taller de títeres de dedo, esta vez para crear «Títeres traviesos» con la compañía Titiriflas en el Centro Sociocultural Caleidoscopio a las 18:00 h. Entrada gratuita con invitaciones disponibles desde el lunes.
El viernes 14 comenzará la programación con Microescena en el Teatro del Bosque, con representaciones de tres obras de microteatro en espacios singulares del teatro a las 20:00 h, 20:30 h y 21:00 h respectivamente.
El sábado 15 se proyectará la película de animación «Flow, un mundo que salvar» en el Centro Sociocultural El Soto a las 18:00 h, y también el domingo 16 en el Centro Sociocultural Norte-Universidad y en el Centro Sociocultural Joan Miró. La película sigue las aventuras de un gato en un mundo cubierto de agua.
El sábado 15 en el Teatro del Bosque se presentará «Lost Letters» (Cartas Perdidas) a cargo de la compañía Lucía Lacarra Ballet a las 19:00 h, un espectáculo de danza que invita a reflexionar sobre la comunicación.
El domingo 16, en el Museo de la Ciudad, la Asociación Cultural Hispano-Polaca KRAKUS representará «Aires Polacos en música y danza» a las 12:00 h. Las invitaciones estarán disponibles en el museo.
Y para cerrar el fin de semana, el domingo en el Teatro El Soto se podrá disfrutar de «El mago de Oz» en versión de títeres a las 12:30 h, una adaptación de la clásica historia infantil con Dorothy y sus amigos en el mundo de Oz.
