Móstoles acogió la Gala del Balonmano Madrileño en el Centro Cultural Villa de Móstoles, que reconoce los logros y los valores deportivos de las figuras del balonmano, tanto de jóvenes promesas como de jugadores ya consolidados, entrenadores y árbitros, además de clubes, instituciones, empresas y personalidades ligadas a este deporte de toda la Comunidad de Madrid.
El alcalde de Móstoles, Manuel Bautista, agradeció a la Federación Madrileña de Balonmano por elegir a Móstoles para esta Gala de entrega de premios, destacando el apoyo de la ciudad al deporte y su candidatura como Ciudad Europea del Deporte 2026.
El alcalde también mencionó el ascenso del equipo senior masculino del Club Balonmano Móstoles a Primera Nacional como un logro deportivo destacado de la temporada, resaltando el trabajo en equipo y el apoyo de la comunidad.
La ceremonia, organizada por la Federación Madrileña de Balonmano, contó con la presencia de diversas personalidades del ámbito deportivo y del Gobierno municipal, así como la mascota Hand que promueve los valores deportivos.
Yesterday, Móstoles hosted the Gala del Balonmano Madrileño at the Centro Cultural Villa de Móstoles, which recognizes the achievements and sporting values of figures in handball, including young talents, established players, coaches, referees, clubs, institutions, companies, and personalities associated with the sport throughout the Community of Madrid.
The Mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista, expressed his gratitude to the Madrid Handball Federation (FMBM) for choosing Móstoles to host this awards ceremony, «a gala that recognizes the dedication, effort, and passion of a sport that holds a special place in the Community of Madrid,» once again demonstrating that Móstoles is a strong candidate to become the European City of Sport 2026, due to its promotion of sports and support for sports entities, clubs, and associations.
The Mayor also highlighted «the sporting achievement of this season by Club Balonmano Móstoles, such as the promotion of the senior men’s team to Primera Nacional, with 21 victories in 22 matches. A historic result that reflects the work of a united team, their coaching staff, and the constant support of families, fans, and the city.»
The ceremony, organized by the Madrid Handball Federation in collaboration with the Móstoles City Council, began with a piano musical performance and featured the presence of Vicente Martínez, President of UFEDEMA (Madrid Sports Federations Union); José Javier Hombrados, President of the Madrid Handball Federation; David Monjo, General Director of FMBM; Sara Oviedo, Vice President of FMBM, and other members of the FMBM Board of Directors, as well as representatives from the Technical Committee of Referees in Madrid and members of the municipal government.
Attendees at this awards ceremony were also accompanied by Hand, the mascot of the Madrid Handball Federation, promoting respect and the core values of sports, who entertained the gala.
