El Ayuntamiento de Móstoles ha llevado a cabo un homenaje a las víctimas del Holocausto en el Museo de la Ciudad, reafirmando su compromiso con la convivencia pacífica y la lucha contra el antisemitismo, el racismo y cualquier forma de odio o violencia.
El Alcalde de Móstoles, Manuel Bautista, participó en el evento en conmemoración de las víctimas del Holocausto, que se celebra el 27 de enero, a propuesta de la UNESCO. En este acto también estuvieron presentes otros miembros de la Corporación Municipal, y se proyectó el video «El regreso a la vida de los supervivientes del Holocausto».
Se encendieron seis velas en memoria del Holocausto, acompañadas por música del Conservatorio Municipal Rodolfo Halffter de Móstoles. Se contó con la participación de diversas personalidades, como la Presidenta de la Comunidad Judía de Madrid, Estrella Bengio, y la coordinadora de diplomacia digital de la Embajada de Israel en España, Eva Pugliese.
El Alcalde de Móstoles encendió la sexta vela en honor a los supervivientes que reconstruyeron sus vidas en Israel y en la diáspora. También se guardó un minuto de silencio en memoria de las víctimas de la Shoá y se proyectó un testimonio de Juan Carlos Sanz Briz y Eva Leitman-Bohrer.
En sus palabras, el Alcalde destacó el compromiso de Móstoles por una convivencia pacífica y la condena a cualquier forma de violencia, odio, racismo o xenofobia, reafirmando la importancia de recordar y aprender de los trágicos sucesos del Holocausto.
