El Ayuntamiento de Móstoles, a través de Móstoles Desarrollo, en colaboración con ASEMPAS y destacadas pastelerías del municipio, ha organizado una degustación de diferentes variedades de rosquillas de San Isidro elaboradas artesanalmente en la Casa Museo Andrés Torrejón para promover la tradición gastronómica. En el evento, se presentaron las rosquillas típicas de San Isidro de varias pastelerías locales, cada una con su propio sabor y textura característicos. Estas rosquillas, tanto las listas como las tontas, forman parte de nuestras tradiciones religiosas y festivas. Con motivo de las Fiestas de la Comunidad de Madrid y San Isidro, las mejores rosquillas artesanas estarán disponibles en las pastelerías de la región. Esta iniciativa busca resaltar la importancia de la pastelería artesana y promover su valor frente a la pastelería industrial, destacando los beneficios que tiene para la salud.

The City Council of Móstoles, through Móstoles Desarrollo, together with ASEMPAS and prominent pastry shops in the municipality, has presented today different varieties of handmade San Isidro donuts.

The City Council of Móstoles, through Móstoles Desarrollo, is joining the initiative of the Association of Artisan Entrepreneurs in the Pastry Sector of Madrid (ASEMPAS) to host the presentation of the typical San Isidro donuts, handmade, and subsequent tasting at the Casa Museo Andrés Torrejón, with the aim of promoting gastronomic traditions.

The third deputy mayor and councillor for Economy, Industry, and Employment, Ángeles García, along with members of the municipal Corporation and the General Secretary of ASEMPAS, Carlos Martínez Jaén, have participated in this initiative that combines tradition and gastronomy.

At the event held today, different pastry shops from Móstoles have come together: Manacor, Los Reyunos, Pastelería Velázquez, Don Carlo, Dulce Hogar, Pastelería José Luis, and Jumaco, who have presented these typical sweets made in a traditional way, with different textures and flavors and with their own characteristic seal.

This event highlights a gastronomic emblem linked to our religious and festive traditions, such as the San Isidro Donuts: the «listas,» with a glazed finish (with sugar syrup, lemon juice, and beaten egg); and the «tontas,» with a simpler finish, without glazing, made with flour, eggs, sugar, oil, and anise.

Sweets and desserts have always been closely linked to religious celebrations, and this year, on the occasion of the Madrid Community and San Isidro Festivities, the best artisan donuts will return to pastry shops throughout the region.

Móstoles is one of the more than 40 municipalities in the Community of Madrid that celebrate May 15, the feast of San Isidro, in addition to the capital city of Madrid.

ASEMPAS aims to promote artisanal pastry, highlight its importance, recognize its value, prestige, and the benefits that its artisanal production has for health, compared to industrial production. Since 2018, it has the «Artisan Quality Seal,» which is supported by the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumer Affairs of the Ministry of Economy, Employment, and Finance of the Community of Madrid.
