Con motivo de las fiestas del 2 de mayo, Móstoles organiza jornadas de puertas abiertas al Archivo municipal, donde se podrán visitar los días 28, 29 y 30 de abril para ver los importantes documentos históricos que forman parte del Fondo Documental Municipal. Los ciudadanos que asistan también tendrán la oportunidad de visitar la exposición sobre el mundo de la información, su tratamiento y digitalización, mostrando la evolución desde los documentos manuscritos hasta la época actual. El Archivo municipal alberga joyas caligráficas que forman parte de la Historia de la Villa de Móstoles, como el libro de firmas con la rúbrica del Rey Alfonso XIII y la reina Victoria Eugenia, un programa de las Fiestas del 2 de Mayo de 1916 y un cuaderno de festejos manuscrito de 1909. Visitors can also explore the exhibition on information, its processing, and digitalization, showcasing the evolution from handwritten documents to the present day.

The Municipality of Móstoles, through the Department of Digitalization, New Technologies, and Archives, has organized open days on April 28, 29, and 30 to visit the municipal archive, which houses significant historical documents such as the signature book including King Alfonso XIII and Queen Victoria Eugenia’s signatures, a program of the May 2nd celebrations from 1916, and a handwritten festival notebook from 1909.

These calligraphic treasures are part of Móstoles’ history and will be displayed to residents and visitors in honor of the events of May 2, 1808. The Municipal Archive of Móstoles is located at Calle Colón, 10, 3rd floor, and can be visited during regular hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Additionally, there will be an exhibition showcasing technological creations that trace the evolution of information mediums from the 19th century to the digital age, storing vast amounts of data, sounds, and images in almost microscopic devices. Visitors can also see old photographs of the city, a 1875 gramophone, and various microchips.

Mayor Manuel Bautista emphasized the historical significance of Móstoles and encouraged citizens to seize the opportunity to explore the city’s origins through the Municipal Archive’s unique collection during the open days.
