Vecinos de Móstoles quieren que todas las líneas lleguen a Príncipe Pío

The Neighborhood Association of El Soto de Móstoles considers the reinforcement initiated this July for the interurban line 524 to be «insufficient» and has once again demanded the recovery of frequencies for this line, which serves 40,000 residents of the city, and that all lines reach Príncipe Pío.

This reaction comes after the Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid (CRTM) announced a reinforcement last Wednesday of the intercity lines L525 and L524 of Móstoles with the aim of increasing the frequencies of buses heading to Cuatro Vientos.

Regarding Line 524, which once connected the Príncipe Pío interchange with the PAU-4 passing through El Soto, a new expedition is added at 6:00 a.m. towards Madrid, although the frequency will remain the same and will continue to end at Cuatro Vientos, like the rest of the intercity lines.

«There is no substantial improvement in the frequencies, which continue to be every half an hour,» insists the president of the Neighborhood Association of El Soto, Ricardo Zamora, who has been advocating for the restoration of the previous frequencies of 20 minutes for months, which he considers «outrageous, a real nonsense, a real shame.»

Furthermore, Zamora has urged the Regional Transport Consortium (CRTM) to «have the bus lines return to end their route at Príncipe Pío,» as well as asking the mayor of the town, Manuel Bautista (PP), to request a change in this regard from his counterpart in Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida.

«CUATRO VIENTOS, THIRD WORLD»

Additionally, he criticizes the improvised bus interchange at Cuatro Vientos, which he regards as «another shame, another disgrace, a supposed terminal that is third world, inhospitable, that does not meet any comfort or safety conditions, neither in summer nor in winter.»

Regarding the meeting the mayor had this Wednesday with the delegate of Urban Planning, Environment, and Mobility of the Madrid City Council, Borja Carabante, the association insists that they are still awaiting information that «the buses end at Príncipe Pío.»

During that meeting, the mayor of Móstoles did propose considering the possibility of the bus services being able to return to the Príncipe Pío interchange, with the aim of «streamlining and facilitating the mobility of Móstoles residents during the development of the works.»
